CAMRA Beer & Cider Festival. The extremely popular Isle of Man Beer and Cider Festival will be running for a 4th year from Thursday 9th to Saturday 11th April 2015. It promises to be an even bigger event this time. The venue is now the prestigious Villa Marina situated in the centre of Douglas. There will be over 125 real ales, ciders and perries served from bars in two different rooms. As well as beers from all over the British Isles there will be 20 from the Island ??s four breweries, including the new Hooded Ram microbrewery winner of the 2014 beer of the festival award. For those who like music, top local bands will be playing from Friday lunch time in the main Royal Hall until close of day, then again on Saturday. Good food is available at lunchtimes and in the evenings. While on the Island there is the opportunity to explore the numerous real ale pubs using the Islands unique railways. Rail Ale is a guide put together by Isle of Man Railways in conjunction with CAMRA. It lists 9 Good Beer Guide listed pubs in the north served by the electric railway and 12 in the south served by the steam railway, which still runs with original locomotives and carriages from when it was opened in 1874.
