Appointment of New Consultant Paediatricians 5 August 2005

Noble’s Hospital is delighted to announce the appointment of a Consultant Paediatrician to join Dr Kurien. Dr William van der Merwe, who took up his permanent post in June, has been working at the Hospital, in a locum capacity, since January this year.

Dr van der Merwe undertook specialist training in South Africa and New Zealand and then worked as a Consultant at St Mary’s Hospital on the Isle of Wight prior to moving to the Isle of Man. He has special interests in allergy, cystic fibrosis and gastroenterology.

Dr van der Merwe has been impressed with the friendly atmosphere that he has encountered both in the workplace and on the Island as a whole.
