Personal Income Tax Return Form Submission 22 September 2006

The Income Tax Division of Treasury is advising individuals that there are only just 14 days to go to the deadline date for submitting personal income tax return forms issued in April 2006. Penalties for non-submission of personal income tax returns were introduced last year, leading to the highest level of submission in recent years.

A £50 penalty will be charged if individual return forms for year ended 5 April 2006, are not received by 6 October 2006. If the form is still not received by the Division by 6 April 2007, then a further £50 penalty will apply. Even if the penalties are paid, the return form still must be submitted.

Last year there were large queues at the Income Tax office during the final fortnight before the deadline. Individuals are reminded that they can send in their return form free by post, using the mailing label which was sent out with their return. Alternatively returns can be put through the letterboxes at the front of Central Government Office or on the 2nd floor inside Central Government Office.

If anyone requires a duplicate form, then they should contact the Division as soon as possible in order that a return form can be issued and returned before the deadline.

If any help is required in completing the return form, please contact the Division in any of the following ways –

  • Phone General Enquiries on 685400
  • Email incometax@itd.treasury.gov.im
  • Visit the 2nd Floor, Central Government Office, Bucks Road, Douglas. Office opening hours are Monday – Thursday 9.15am – 5pm, Friday 9.15am - 4.30pm
