Follow in the footsteps of Super Spy Alex Rider and win a Nintendo and Stormbraker Game 19 October 2006

Fans of Stormbreaker’s teenage hero Alex Rider can follow his mission step by step on the Isle of Man and win top prizes of Nintendo consoles and Stormbreaker games.

One of the blockbuster films of summer 2006, Stormbreaker, is released on DVD on November 13. To coincide with this, Isle of Man Tourism has launched an Alex Rider Trail Map, with a fantastic competition for budding young spies to enter.

Stormbreaker is based on the popular novels by Anthony Horowitz and is about the adventures of reluctant teenage spy Alex Rider. The film enjoyed great box office success this summer, grossing more than £6 million.

Filmed almost entirely on the Isle of Man, Stormbreaker is an action packed movie following Alex (Alex Pettyfer) as he tries to save the world from a deadly virus being developed by billionaire criminal Darrius Sayle (Mickey Rourke).

The film has a stellar cast, including such names as Ewan McGregor, Bill Nighy, Alicia Silverstone and Sophie Okenodo.

The Alex Rider Trail Map encourages young fans to follow in Alex’s footsteps and ‘crack the code’ by answering a series of eight questions. They can only be answered by visiting the eight different locations around the island.

The prizes up for grabs are six Nintendo DS and Stormbreaker games to play on them. Six runners up will also receive exclusive Stormbreaker goody bags. To get hold of a map, contact Anna Hemy or Marlene Kneen at the Department of Tourism & Leisure for the Isle of Man on 01624 686733 or 01624 686830 or email anna.hemy@gov.im or marlene.kneen@dtl.gov.im. The closing date for postal or email entries is April 30 2007. Only one entry per person.

The Isle of Man is located in the heart of the Irish Sea off the north west coast of England. With its picturesque landscapes, 100 miles of rugged coastline and unique attractions it provides the ideal location for any movie. In previous years it has doubled as the Caribbean, the Channel Islands and southern Ireland. Flights to the Isle of Man start from as little as £98 return.
