Tourism & Leisure Minister announces delegation of Duties 29 January 2007

The Minister for Tourism and Leisure Adrian Earnshaw MHK has announced the delegation of duties to his political colleagues within the Department of Tourism and Leisure.

Quintin Gill MHK is responsible for the National Sports Centre, Sports Development and Tourism Events (excluding TT, Manx Grand Prix and Southern 100) as well as being the non-Executive Chairman of the Isle of Man Sports Council.

Geoff Corkish MHK is responsible for Arts and Entertainment which includes the Villa Marina and Gaiety Theatre and the Wildlife Park. In addition, he is responsible for visiting cruise ships and conference business as well as being the non-Executive Chairman of the Arts Council.

The Minister retains responsibility for Tourism and its development, the TT, Manx Grand Prix and Southern 100, as well as the Island’s internal transport system.

In welcoming his new team the Minister commented:

‘I am delighted that Quintin and Geoff have agreed to join me on the Department of Tourism and Leisure and I am sure that together with the Industry and officers we will work hard to provide quality and value for our customers, as well as enhance economic development for our Island.’
