Written Question 2

For Written Answer: The Hon Member for Douglas North (Mr Houghton) to ask the Minister for Health and Social Security

  1. What are the total number of car parking spaces at Nobles Hospital;
  2. how many spaces are allocated to staff and what are the arrangements for staff parking; and
  3. are the car parks separated in order to negate abuse of parking by persons not utilising hospital facilities?

Answer

  1. There are 732 officially designated car parking spaces on the Noble’s Hospital site.
  2. There are 324 officially designated car spaces for staff working at Noble’s Hospital. All staff are advised at their induction of the situation of the staff parking areas and requested not to park their vehicles in areas allocated for patients and visitors.
  3. The main patient and visitor car park is clearly signposted and located at the front of the Hospital building, the main staff car park is situated at the rear of the facility. Checks by staff have revealed very few instances of abuse of parking by persons not using the Hospital, and on the rare occasions abuse has been detected, it has been stopped.

Written Question 3

For Written Answer: The Hon Member for Douglas North (Mr Houghton) to ask the Minister for Health and Social Security

In respect of Nobles Hospital

  1. How many clinics are operated on a daily basis for out patients and what is the average number of patients treated on a daily basis; and
  2. What is the average number of persons attending the blood clinic?

Answer

Thank you for your enquiry with regard to Outpatient clinics and the phlebotomy service. I have attached 2 tables, which give you the monthly figures. Firstly the outpatient clinics, the average number of outpatient clinics on a daily basis is 28. The average number of patients treated daily is 265. As you will see from the tables the information is taken from the last financial year. You will also notice the variation in the working days due to Bank Holidays.

The table with regard to the phlebotomy service has been compiled on the same basis. A daily average of 186 patients are seen within the clinic, however, the phlebotomy also covers the wards and therefore this is not an accurate reflection of the total number of patients seen per day.
