Job Market Statistics August 2007 20 September 2007

At the end of August unemployment stood at 633, 1.5% of the economically active population.

During the month of August 178 claimants signed on the unemployment register and 159 signed off. Of the total, 410 are males and 223 are females. These figures include 24 persons who require work permits and 41 who were signing on only for National Insurance credits.

A total of 719 job vacancies were notified to the Job Centre during August and at the end of the month 315 jobs were held on file.
