Last posting dates for Christmas announced 14 November 2007

To ensure you don’t miss out on your festive cards and gifts reaching family and friends this Christmas, Isle of Man Post Office has announced the last dates for posting mail.

Mail bound to South and Central America, Caribbean, Africa, Middle East, Asia, Far East (except Japan) Australia and New Zealand should be sent no later than December 7, while mail to the USA, Canada, Japan and Eastern Europe should be posted by December 10 and mail destined for Western Europe sent by December 13.

For sending letters, large letters and packets to the UK, as well as using Parcelforce 48, the last date for posting is Thursday, December 20. For Special Delivery and Parcelforce next day the latest date for posting is Friday, December 21 while the last chance for sending post locally is Saturday, December 22, 2007.

To assist customers during this very busy period, Douglas Sorting Office will be operating longer opening hours from December 3, 2007. Anyone wishing to collect a parcel can do so between 0700 and 2100 while parcels and letters can be posted from 0900 till 2000 and until 2100 from December 19 until December 21. However items need to be posted before 1845 at Douglas Sorting Office to ensure despatch to the UK and Overseas the same day. Any items posted after this time will be despatched the following day.

Finally you can help us this Christmas by making sure you address your mail correctly by ensuring the postcode is included - this makes a real difference to how quickly we can process your mail – and by posting as early as possible.
