Road Transport Licensing Committee 26 November 2007

Nominations for Membership

The Road Transport Licensing Committee is the licensing body for the operators and drivers of public passenger vehicles such as buses, taxis and private hire vehicles.

The Committee is appointed by the Council of Ministers under Section 1 of the Road Transport Act 2001, and the appointments have to be approved by Tynwald. The Committee consists of a Chairperson, a Vice-Chairperson, and three other members. The present Committee was appointed in February 2007 for a five year term of office.

A vacancy has arisen for one lay member.

Members of Tynwald are disqualified from membership; as is any person with a financial interest in the carriage of passenger goods.
