Emergency Exercise at Isle of Man Airport 27 November 2007

The Airports Division is staging a major emergency exercise on Saturday, December 1st.

Exercise ‘Garrison’ will test Isle of Man Airport’s Major Incident Plan, which would come into operation if an aircraft accident occurred on or in the vicinity of the Airport.

The emergency services will participate, in addition to Civil Defence and Health Services, who will use the opportunity to test their own emergency procedures.

The Airport will remain operational during the duration of the exercise.

Airport Director Ann Reynolds explained:

‘The exercise will allow us to put our Major Incident Plan through its paces, and subsequently identify any areas where it can be fine-tuned. Because of the multi-agency participation, members of the public may notice emergency service vehicles in the vicinity of the airport.’
