Changes to Parcelforce tariffs 9 June 2008

Isle of Man Post Office announces changes to the price of existing UK and international parcel services with effect from Monday 30th June 2008.

Price adjustments will affect a variety of services including Parcelforce next day, Parcelforce 48 (over 10kg), and international datapost. However there is good news for customers as the price to send local to local parcels, courier packs and enhanced compensation charges will remain unchanged for a further year.

Isle of Man Post Office will continue to be committed to the Forces personnel with free postage of parcels (not exceeding 2kg) to any BFPO address for friends and family. The postal charges to HM Forces for other senders are also being held for another year.

Pamela M Crowe, Chairman of Isle of Man Post Office said:

“Parcelforce in the UK increased its prices in April this year, and I am very pleased that Isle of Man Post Office has managed to postpone increasing its prices until the end of June. Increasing fuel costs and changes to the value of the pound have been contributory factors in the rise in prices. I am delighted that we have been able to hold prices for courier packs, local to local parcels and enhanced compensation fees within our services.”

Full details of the new prices can be found at www.iompost.com and copies of the Price Guide will shortly be available at any Post Office Island-wide.
