DHSS staff congratulated for Awards for Excellence achievements 24 November 2008

The Department of Health and Social Security this week congratulated the Primary Care Team, Paul McCann, Neonatal Unit Lead Nurse at Noble’s Hospital, and managers and staff involved with the Ophthalmology Waiting List Initiative at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital and Noble’s Hospital, who all received recognition for their work within the Department at the recent Isle of Man Awards for Excellence Ceremony.

The Primary Care Team achieved the Conister Trust Award for Corporate Social Responsibility, Paul McCann was awarded the Public Sector Personality of the Year accolade, and managers and staff of the Ophthalmic Waiting List Initiative achieved a finalist award in the Collins Stewart Public Sector Achievement of the Year category.

Hon Eddie Teare MHK, Minister for Health and Social Security said,

“The Department is extremely proud of Paul, the Primary Care Team and the Ophthalmic Waiting List Teams at Ramsey and Noble’s for their achievements. The recognition they have received is very well deserved and I am sure all concerned will build upon their achievements and continue to provide the best possible service to the people of the Isle of Man.”

Norman McGregor Edwards, Director of Health Strategy and Performance said,

“I am delighted the dedicated and committed work of Paul, the Primary Care Team and the Ophthalmic Waiting List Initiative Team has been recognised in this way. All parties have made such a difference to the care provided to our patients and I hope they enjoy their success.”
