Arts Council Film Season ends 21 July 2009 It is with regret that the Isle of Man Arts Council announce the end of their film seasons at the Palace Cinema. The film seasons have been running between September and June each year since 1996. In recent years audience numbers have reduced significantly leading to the decision this year that the 2009 season would be the final one. Emma Callin, Arts Development Manager said The Arts Council is very sorry to lose the film season at the Palace Cinema but audience demand is no longer apparent. However, we are delighted that both the Erin Arts Centre and the Peel Centenary Centre have agreed to include an Arts Council sponsored film in each of their forthcoming film seasons. The Arts Council would like to express thanks to the Palace Cinema for the hard work and cooperation involved in the film seasons for the last thirteen years. The Arts Councils Film Festival will return in September this year, including the very popular outdoor cinema Under the Stars within the grounds of the Isle of Man Business School. Full details of the Film Festival will be available shortly at www.iomarts.com. Alternatively enquiries can be directed to the Arts Council office telephone: 694598. -ENDS- More stories >>>
