Changes to Bus Services 15 August 2003

Bus timetables have been altered to provide access to Noble's Hospital at the Strang during road closures for Manx Grand Prix practices and races.

Services from Douglas to the new hospital will be maintained throughout the MGP fortnight. Buses will leave Lord Street, Douglas, at 15 minutes past the hour and connect at St Ninian's with a bus inside the course to Noble's. Passengers will need to disembark and walk over the footbridge.

Ian Maule, Head of Buses, said:

"The bus from Lord Street is Service 22A which departs from stand C. The last direct service on race days departs from Lord Street at 9.10am, and the first service using this link will be 10.15am. Then it will be every hour throughout the period of closure. The total journey time is about 30 minutes, compared with a normal journey time of 10 minutes.

"Departures from the hospital will be at 43 minutes past the hour, with buses departing from the bus stop near the main entrance."

See below for further information on buses to the hospital during MGP.

Other services are subject to disruption during practices and races - full details of all bus routes can be obtained from the Lord Street Travel Shop, Douglas, open Mondays to Saturdays from 10am to 12.30pm and from 1.30pm to 4pm, including August bank holiday. Telephone 662525.

The Isle of Man Guide's online bus and railway timetables have not been updated to reflect these temporary changes.
