Inflation Falls Slightly 28 October 2004

Over the twelve months to mid-October the rate of inflation in the Isle of Man has fallen slightly from 6.0% in September and now stands at 5.9%.

The Fuel & Light category continues to show the largest increase having risen by 1.4% over the previous month and 24.6% over the year.

Since mid-September the Household Goods index fell by 3.9%, partly due to furniture sales, whilst most other categories showed moderate increases.

The General Index of Retail Prices is currently 116.7 (January 2000 = 100.0).
