50th Anniversary Book 30 January 2004

The Southern Road Races will be celebrating their 50th Anniversary in 2005 and the races will be held between July 11th and 14th inclusive.

Not only will there be the usual race programme catering for Solos, Formula 2 Sidecars and Classic machines it is anticipated that there will be many special events during Southern week all based in and around Castletown.

To celebrate fifty years of the friendly races, as the Southern has become known to all over the years, the club are also publishing a book on its history.

If you have or know of anybody who has any amusing, strange or unforgettable experiences from Billown, since 1955, the Southern 100 club would like to hear from them for possible inclusion in the hardback book. They are also looking for action, stills and unusual photographs that have been taken over the years to further enhance the book.

If you or someone you know can contribute to the book, the club would be most grateful and full acknowledgements will be given. Any photographs sent to the club will be scanned and returned via recorded delivery. The club can be contacted through secretary, George Peach, Ellerslie, 128 Malew Street, Castletown, Isle of Man, British Isles, IM9 1LT or via e-mail to racing@southern100.com.
