The band formed in Manchester, England in 1956 by three brothers Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb (born on the Isle of Man) as well as friends Vince Melouney and Colin Petersen. They started off playing rock/pop/folk music but later would evolve into disco. Their music would take them to Australia where they would top the charts and later to the US, where their international success would begin. The band went through highs and lows as members came and went, though still managed to keep the hits rolling. Still running today the Bee Gees are a worldwide success with 35 recorded albums spanning over 45 years.
