Notice to Mariners No 2 of 2005 - Douglas Harbour Office Berth 8 July 2005

    DOUGLAS HARBOUR – OFFICE BERTH (No 8) WORKS IN PROGRESS IN POSITION LAT. 54 08.83N LONG. 004 28.6W

    Work on the River Bed at Number 8 berth (Office Berth) Douglas Harbour is due to commence on or about Monday 18th July 2005 and is expected to last to the end of the month.

    This work will involve digging trenches levelling, placing of stones and rocks on the river bed. During this period the berth will remain out of use and mariners are advised that obstructions will be on the bed. Actual works will be carried out approximately 2 hours either side of low water.

    The area of works is approximately 80 metres seaward of the Millennium Bridge and extending approximately 15 metres out from the quay edge.

    A line of buoys will be placed in the area of the obstructions and vessels should not enter the area between these buoys and the quay edge. In addition “No Berth “ signs will be in place.

    All vessels should proceed with caution when entering/leaving the inner harbour at Douglas during the period of the works.
