The Department of Health and Social Security has announced that the official opening of the Finch Hill Health Centre will be held on Wednesday 29 June 2005.

The whole of the building was rewired and new plumbing and heating systems were installed. The high quality of the refurbishment of the building has been regularly commented on by patients and visitors alike. In addition, an innovative IT system has been installed which allows the Practice to operate in a near paperless environment. Dr Sharpe, who is currently taking on an average of 130 new patients each month, will be in a position by April 2006 to take on an additional GP to become a two-doctor Practice.

The official opening is being undertaken by Hon S Rodan, MHK, Minister for Health and Social Security, who said,

“I am delighted to be opening another new surgery in the Douglas area which reflects growing demand both in terms of the increasing number of patients and the services provided by GP’s. Furthermore it demonstrates the Department’s commitment to ensuring high standards of health care and continuous improvement in the provision of patient services”.
