Isle of Man 2006 Census 13 April 2006

Isle of Man 2006 Census

A Census will take place in the Isle of Man on Sunday 23rd April, 2006. By now, every household in the Island should have received an Advance Information Leaflet explaining why the Census is to be held and what to do if you will be off the Island on Census Night.

The delivery of the Census forms has now begun. It is important that you accurately complete your form as there is no other method by which Government can obtain this type of information, which is essential for the effective planning of future public services. For this reason, there is a legal requirement to complete the Census form. All the information provided is treated in strict confidence and names and addresses are not entered into the Census database.

Meanwhile, the Division would like to thank everyone who contacted the Census Office to notify us that you will be off the Island on Census Night. Please note that a Census form, along with a pre-paid envelope, will be left at your address to be completed when you return.

Your co-operation in this vital exercise is greatly appreciated.

Peter Hannay, Census Co-ordinator.
