Patient Greetings at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital 7 July 2006

The Department of Health and Social Security is delighted to announce the launch of a pilot scheme that will allow friends, relatives and loved ones to contact a patient staying at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital by email.

Steve Rodan, MHK, Minister for Health and Social Security said,

“Anyone who has spent any length of time in hospital will know that it can be a lonely time waiting for visiting times so that you can see your friends, family and loved ones. It can be lonelier still if your well-wishers can’t get to visit you. That is why I am delighted that this new initiative will provide some remedy to this loneliness and again show our commitment to high quality customer services.”

Brian Pressley, Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital Manager said,

“I welcome the opportunity to participate in the pilot and feel that the email patient greetings service will be a way of bringing comfort to patients from people far and near in a timely manner. E-mailing is convenient and has become the preferred mode of communication for many people.”

To use this service to send a get-well message to a patient at Ramsey and District Cottage Hospital, click this link . Once there, follow the link to Patient Greetings. Alternatively, you can directly email RamseyGreetings@ramseycottage.dhss.gov.im.

Visitors will need to ensure that the Patient’s name and Ward are written as the subject so that upon receipt of an email, a ward clerk can deliver it to the patient. Unfortunately, we cannot offer a reply service.
