Department of Transport Releases TT Centenary Road Safety DVD 2 May 2007

DOT TT DVD Cover for TAKE ITT EASYThis year marks the centenary of the TT races, the most famous road-racing festival in the world. 2007 promises to be a spectacular event, with thousands of extra race fans expected to make the trip to see their heroes’ race around the Mountain Circuit.

To mark the occasion the Department of Transport has produced a special short film in conjunction with Greenlight Television. The film contains lots of great features including a brief history of the TT, some fantastic race footage as well as vital road safety advice. The Department is producing 20,000 DVD’s for distribution and they are being offered free of charge.

The DVD provides the perfect opportunity for visitors to experience the roads on the TT Course before their arrival on the Island. The DVD can be posted to the UK and overseas and all residents offering home stay facilities can forward the names and addresses of their guests and the Department will post a copy directly to them.

Road Safety Manager, Gordon Edwards said

‘This year’s TT will be busier than ever and because of this the Department has decided to release this short DVD prior to the festival in the hope that the road safety message will reach as many people as possible. The film takes viewers on a lap of the TT course highlighting potentials hazard areas for bikers which will be extremely valuable when taking into account the extra traffic on the road this year. I would urge all TT fans to take advantage of this offer and request their free copy today. ’

The message for visiting TT fans is clear from the title of the DVD – we hope you enjoy the spectacle and have fun but remember to TAKE ITT EASY.

The DVD is available free of charge from
