DoT Commences 2nd Phase Jetty Works on the Tower of Refuge 2 May 2007

The Department of Transport is to commence the second phase of works to complete the new jetty on the Tower of Refuge on Monday 14th May 2007. The Department will commence works on the afternoon tide, following which, work will be carried out between the hours of 6.00a.m.and 8.30p.m for approximately one week. However, the work is weather and tide dependent.

The Department is to dig into the existing rock in an attempt to reduce the amount of concrete needed to form the new jetty. The jetty will facilitate the essential ongoing maintenance of the Tower of Refuge.

The Department advises that there may be some noise disturbance created by these works, the likelihood of which will be dependent on weather conditions.
