Onchan to Laxey scheme phase 1 - traffic lights on Hillberry Road 18 September 2008

The Isle of Man Water Authority has recently appointed Island Drainage and Groundwork Limited to install a 200mm ductile iron water main to supplement the existing water supply from Onchan to Laxey and to increase the outlet capacity of Cronk Ny Mona Service Reservoir.

Preparatory work is scheduled to commence on 22nd September 2008 at the Hillberry Road/Highfield Road junction. Work on the road will be subject to traffic lights on Hillberry Road/Avondale Road, with a full road closure necessary on Stoney Road (albeit in small sections to enable access). This scheme will last sixteen weeks.

Naturally, every effort will be made to minimise disruption. The public is assured that traffic management will be a priority, but both the Isle of Man Water Authority and its contractor, Island Drainage and Groundwork, would be grateful if motorists could drive with care near the workers.

For further information please contact Mary Doyle, Customer Liaison Coordinator for this project, on 695968 or Project Sponsor Dave Cain on 695973.
