Car Parking on Loch Promenade Walkway for Christmas Shopping 27 November 2008

9.30am – 9.00pm every day from Thursday 27 November 2008 until 9.00 pm Sunday 4 January 2009, Subject to Weather Conditions

VEHICLES MUST NOT EXCEED 5 MPH

The Department of Transport has made arrangements to allow Christmas shoppers to park their cars on the Loch Promenade Walkway. As in previous years a one-way system will be in operation with the entrance near the War Memorial and exit at the Sea Terminal Roundabout. Please take care when exiting as vehicles will also be entering and exiting the Bottleneck car park.

For safety reasons, the Department has suspended the cycleway on this section of the Promenade walkway for the duration of the Christmas parking arrangements and the Department apologises for any inconvenience to cyclists.

PARKING IS PERMITTED SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS

  • NO entry before 9:30am
  • All cars are parked at owners risk
  • Parking is NOT permitted after 9:00pm or overnight
  • NO parking on Sea Side
  • Park on Garden Side only
  • Reverse In
  • Maximum stay 3 hours
  • Display you disc
  • NO return within 2 hours
  • Beware of weather conditions particularly high tides & strong winds
  • Beware of height restrictions at entrance and exit
  • Large Vans and Motorhomes are NOT permitted
  • Drive very slowely, 5 MPH LIMIT
  • Look out for pedestrians

Parking arrangements will be enforced by parking controllers
