IOM Film Festival 2009 25 August 2009

The Isle of Man Arts Council is pleased to announce the third Isle of Man Film Festival taking place between 17th and 20th September. The Film Festival has become a popular and established event in the Arts Council’s calendar and this year once again includes the ever popular Under the Stars outdoor cinema in the grounds of the Nunnery. Under the Stars and the finals of the Young Film Maker of Mann and Short Film competitions remain the bedrock events during the Film Festival, with a variety of other events filling the four day festival including award winning documentaries and films and a chance to see Manx archive film from the Museum.

Emma Callin, Arts Development Manager said “We’re very excited to embark on our third Film Festival with a wide range of film events that should give everyone something to enjoy. As ever we expect great support for Under the Stars and we have selected Mamma Mia as the Saturday night film specifically due to the many requests we received from the public for the film to be shown outdoors. We’re all set for another busy festival celebrating international and local film.”
