Another prestigious award nomination for North One Television TT Races coverage 7 December 2009

North One Television has been shortlisted for the Best Sports Programme Award in the prestigious annual Broadcast Magazine Awards for their work on the Isle of Man TT Races in 2009. Broadcast is the main weekly magazine for the UK television and radio industry. The awards recognise and reward excellence in the UK television programming industry and judging criteria includes creativity, quality, originality and results.

Other nominations in the Best Sports Programme category include The Cheltenham Gold Cup, Cricket on Five, Formula 1 (Monaco Grand Prix), The Volvo Ocean Race and Wimbledon 2009.

Other categories include Best Entertainment Programme, Best Daytime Programme, Best News Programme, Best Drama and Best Documentary Series. Shortlisted programmes include Britain’s Got Talent, X Factor, Harry Hill’s TV Burp and the leading Soaps. There are 20 different categories in total covering all aspects of Television in the UK.

Neil Duncanson, Chief Executive North One Television was delighted with the nomination and commented:

“It’s great to be recognised for our work. This nomination is a tribute to the whole production team which included a number of people from the Isle of Man who played an important role in the success.”

He continued;

“We’ve had a really positive reaction from everyone who has watched the programmes and to receive a nomination is the icing on the cake.” Hon Martyn Quayle, MHK, Minister for Tourism and Leisure, Isle of Man Government, commented:

“Congratulations are due to everyone who worked on the programmes which are playing a really important role in promoting not just the TT races but the overall attractiveness of the Isle of Man to a global market.”
