Beauty and the Beast at the Gaiety Theatre 16 December 2009

Beauty and the Beast

About the Show

Very few could forget the Douglas Choral Union’s (DCU) sensational sell out run of Boublil and Schönberg’s ‘Les Misérables’ in 2009.

To start the new season of shows off in style, the DCU are proud to be the first amateur theatre group in the UK to stage Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. It will be the first British production by an ‘Amateur’ company, not in the West End, to feature the entire score and not an abridged version.

Beauty and the Beast literally is a “tale as old as time”. The movie, created by Walt Disney, came out in 1991. Its colourful cast of characters from Cogsworth, the clock, to Chip, the Teacup, are to grace the stage of the Gaiety Theatre after delighting more than 20 million people worldwide with its unique costumes, beautiful sets, and incredible special effects.

With a cast of over 40 of the Island’s most talented performers, this is a show for all the family and should not be missed. So, to avoid disappointment, book your seat early.

The DCU are extremely proud to be sponsored by Dougherty Quinn Advocates & Notaries and are ever grateful for their support.
