Police promotions 26 January 2010

Acting Chief Insp Kev WillsonFormer head of Douglas Neighbourhood Policing Team Kev Willson has been appointed Acting Chief Inspector for a period of six months.

A/CI Willson will be based at Police Headquarters in Douglas and will take charge of police operations, overseeing neighbourhood policing.

He said:

‘This is an exciting opportunity to work with the team of inspectors and builds on the great foundations of community policing.’

Inspector Richard Power, latterly head of the Roads Policing Unit, moves to take charge at Douglas, where he will lead a total of around 60 officers and staff from Lord Street.

Inspector Power commented:

‘Having spent the last couple of years in roads policing, I was surprised when the opportunity of heading policing in Douglas came up and did not hesitate to ask to be considered for the role.
Insp Richard Power Douglas NPT‘I bring to it some 28 years of operational experience in all aspects of policing and look forward to the challenges the post offers and working with the community in Douglas.’
