Niarbyl Catering Contract 22 September 2010

Manx National Heritage (MNH) is a publicly funded body which exists to preserve, protect and promote the Island’s natural and cultural heritage for the Manx community. Providing high standards of public service and delivering value for money are key responsibilities of MNH and this extends to the catering offer at our heritage sites.

Existing arrangements for the catering provision at Niarbyl have been in place for 5 years and following an extensive selection process, Manx National Heritage can today announce that D’s Leisure Limited have secured the contract for a further four years.

The contract has been awarded after an open tender process which began with public advertisements for Expressions of Interest and proceeded through proposals and interviews over recent months.

Advertisements attracted interest from six parties, five of which submitted proposals for the facility at Niarbyl. Four proposals went through to initial interview, with two proposals successfully securing a final interview which was conducted by the Manx National Heritage Chairman, Vice Chairman, Director and Senior Management Team.

A number of factors were taken into consideration in reaching the decision which looked to the future as well as at past performance and these included quality, creativity, innovation, risk and value for money. It was felt that these required criteria were met most consistently by the D’s Leisure proposal. The new contract with D’s Leisure will be effective from 1st November 2010.
