Golf has been played at Castletown since 1892. The course in its present
form was laid out by golfing legend Mackenzie Ross in the late 20s and
early 30s and provides some of the purest links golf anywhere in the
British Isles.
A championship course presenting some real challenges at
over 6700 yards off the championship tees, there are some carries to
frighen the best, yet off the yellow society tees there is scope for the
club golfer to perform as well. The club has held a number of classic
championships, the most notable being the PGA cup matches against the USA
in 1979.

Par 72 Men's 6711 off the Championship tees, 6534 off the medal tees.
Par 73 Ladies' 5635 yards.
Facilities The club has a Junior section and Ladies' Day is
Wednesday Mornings. Green Fees cover the use of the Hotel's leisure
facilities, which include sauna, indoor pool, solarium, and snooker
tables. Guests have use of the members' bar as well as the Hotel's dining
facilities. There is a well stocked pro shop and golf lessons are
available from the club professional Murray Crowe.
Location
From Castletown, travel to Derbyhaven along the coast. Take the turning for
Fort Island or follow signs to Golf Hotel and Course.
