TT Visitors

Accommodation
Hotel accommodation, bed and breakfast, self catering, camping as well as homestay in private homes throughout the Island is available during the TT festival. It is always best to plan early if you want to guarantee somewhere to stay, since places book up fast. The Department of Tourism puts together a Homestay List, but does not make bookings. Check the list on their website (TT Homestay).

Transport
There are two ways to get to the Isle of Man, by boat or by air. Flights are more restricted in space and it can often be very difficult to fly in during such busy times as TT or MGP. Most come by boat from England and Ireland, which is more cost effective and has higher passenger availability. It can be very cheap on the boat if you come as a foot passenger without a motor vehicle (Bicycles must be checked in, but are FREE). If bringing a vehicle, BOOK EARLY and be prepared for the higher cost. Boats (ferries) are subject to the weather and can be delayed or even canceled in bad weather. Consider this carefully if you have a restricted time frame for your visit (ie connecting boat/ferry, etc).

Watching the TT
The Mountain Circuit is made up of closed public roads. There is a variety of locations to view the racing, much of it free. Make sure you select your location and get to it early. Many of the favourite spots close to pubs fill up early. There is also the closure of the roads to consider. Some locations can make you cut off till racing breaks or even stops. Be sure you are happy with the restrictions of your location. If in doubt ask a nearby marshal.
