Problem Gambling Strategy - two day training programme 9 November 2005

The opportunity to gamble has increased significantly in recent years with the availability of the National Lottery and online gambling operations which are now available 24/7 from people’s homes.

As a tier one jurisdiction in gambling regulation, with both land and online based operations, the Gambling Control Commissioners have identified the need to develop a ‘Problem Gambling Strategy’.

As a way of developing this strategy the Department of Home Affairs is to fund a two day training programme in conjunction with Gamcare. The purpose of the training is to develop an on-island counselling service for those affected by gambling dependency.

Gamcare is a registered UK charity which has become a leading authority on the provision of information, advice and practical help in addressing the social impact of gambling.

The above course is to be held on:-

    Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December 2005.

There are a number of places available on the course and if any one is interested in attending or has any queries please contact
