Retirement Benefits Schemes Consultative Document Released 3 November 2005

The Insurance and Pensions Authority has released a consultative document relating to draft regulations that modify the statutory retirement benefits scheme registration requirements of the Retirement Benefits Schemes Act 2000.

The consultative document includes draft amending regulations ‘The Retirement Benefits Schemes (Miscellaneous Amendment) Regulations 2006’ and provides a synopsis of the amendments detailed in these draft regulations.

In addition to some minor typographical corrections, the draft regulations propose amendments to the registration requirements for personal pension schemes established under Deed Poll and for certain schemes with less than two members in which all assets are invested in policies of insurance or annuity contracts.

A copy of the consultative document may be downloaded by clicking on the link at the bottom of this page or from the consultative documents page of the Authority’s website.

Any comments in relation to this consultative exercise should be submitted to the Authority, at the address shown below, for the attention of Chris Shimmin, Supervisor - Pensions. The closing date for submission of comments is the 25th November 2005.
