Aer Arann Press Release 1 November 2005

    28th October 2005, Aer Arann Ireland’s premier regional airline today announced that it will commence a new daily commuter service from the Isle of Man to London Luton on Thursday 24th November 2005. The airline will operate two return flights per day departing the Isle of Man at 9.30am in the morning and 5.30pm in the evening with a flight time of one hour and fifteen minutes. The return flights from London Luton will depart at 11.20am and 7.20pm. Fares on the route will start from £29.99 one-way including tax. A 50-seater ATR42 aircraft will operate the service.

    Commenting on the announcement, Micheal O’Callarain, Marketing Manager, Aer Arann said, “Following the recent announcement of our Isle of Man to Liverpool and Manchester services, we are delighted to be adding London Luton to our network of routes from the Isle of Man. This new service offers Islanders additional access to London and the opportunity to connect to several European destinations from one of the UK's fastest growing airports. London Luton Airport currently serves over 8 million passengers per year and offers excellent transport links by road and rail to the centre of London.”

    Isle of Man Airport Director, Philip Pain said, “ We welcome the increased utilisation of the two Isle of Man based Aer Arann aircraft, and see it as a sign of Aer Arann's commitment and confidence to develop their newly established base on the Island. Luton is a long established route for the Island, which can now be developed to its full potential”. Ends
