Winners announced for fortieth anniversary year photographic competition 26 October 2005

Percy Morrison, of Morrison Photographics, has completed the difficult task of selecting the winners for the three age categories in the Wildlife Park’s 40th Anniversary Year photographic competition.

Percy commented that he was very impressed with the quantity and quality of entrants, saying: “Nearly every part of the Wildlife Park was covered, from butterflies on the trail and flowers in the gardens to the reptiles, birds and mammals to be seen around the Wildlife Park. There was stunning quality throughout which made it very, very difficult to choose a winner but in the end only one can be selected.”

Winners of the three age categories were; Adult, Karen Pendlebury of Glen Vine, 12 – 16 Thomas Mazzone of Ramsey, and 11 and under Daniel Phair of Onchan. All win outdoor equipment supplied by Morrison Photographics and, along with the the runners-up, season tickets to the Wildlife Park. The runners-up were, respectively, Stephen Hamer of Kirk Michael, Baillie Watterson of Castletown and Rebecca Cowin.

All of the photographs will be displayed at the Wildlife Park Café from Sunday October 23rd to Sunday October 30th and all entries will now be considered for inclusion in a Wildlife Park calendar for 2006. Tina Hampton, Duty Manager, commented “It will be difficult enough selecting twelve shots for the calendar so I don’t envy Percy having to select even fewer. The Wildlife Park is very grateful to him, and Morrison Photographics, for sponsoring and assisting with this very popular event. We hope many people will enjoy looking at the photos during half-term week when we are open every day with half-price admission.”
