North Quay bus stops are moving 16 September 2005

Two bus stops and bus shelters situated on North Quay Douglas are moving from Monday September 19 to allow the road works requiring closure of the roadway to take place.

From Monday the bus services that depart from Douglas via the Promenades to Onchan, Laxey and Ramsey will start from Loch Promenade at new bus stops situated between the Royal Bank of Scotland building and Admiral House. From the same date the existing bus stops on the Promenade at Peveril Square and outside Admiral House will be discontinued.

David Howard, Director of Public Transport, commented: ‘This move will allow the Department of Transport to execute its works in this area and will have the benefit of reducing delays to bus services proceeding from Banks Circus to Ramsey and Onchan by removing the need for buses to circulate via Lord Street and Ridgeway Street at peak times to reach North Quay.’
