Isle of Man Ambulance Paramedic and Patient Transport Service Receive Royal Recognition 5 August 2005

The Department of Health and Social Security is delighted to announce that, as a result of a nomination from the London based Ambulance Service Association, the work of the Isle of Man Ambulance Service has been recognised through Her Majesty the Queen inviting a member of its staff to the Royal Garden Party at Buckingham Palace in June.

Mrs Janet Cox was identified by the ambulance management team as a worthy candidate in relation to the nomination due to her many years of service, both as a valued member of staff and Trade Union Representative, whereby, jointly with management, she has been instrumental in the ongoing development of staff procedures and practices.

Janet, was accompanied by her husband Tony, was delighted that she had been chosen to represent the service at this most special event.

Steve Rodan, MHK, Minister for Health and Social Security, said “It is very rewarding for all those involved to know that our ambulance service, which is probably the smallest in the British Isles, has been singled out and recognised in this manner for the tremendous work it carries out. I am sure that Janet and her husband enjoyed the experience and that it was an event to remember.”
