The Isle of Man Water Authority is looking for a new Director of Finance and Information following the resignation of Mark Gilson, who is due to leave the post at the end of August.

Mr Gilson, who joined the Water Authority in December 2003, has decided to take up a position with the Manx Electricity Authority.

Water Authority Chief Executive, Patrick Heaton-Armstrong has acknowledged Mr Gilson’s valuable contribution over the last 1½ years. He said, “We are extremely grateful to Mark for his input and professional guidance, and naturally we are very sorry to lose such a key member of our senior management team. However, we respect his decision and wish him every success for the future.”

“Mark’s departure does however present a great opportunity for someone with similar qualities and qualifications. The Authority is going through a very interesting time as it puts in place the elements of the new water supply system that will meet the demands of the Island for the foreseeable future.”

“The financial management of our £70 million capital investment programme is without doubt a challenging but rewarding role and I remain optimistic that a suitable candidate for our new Director of Finance and Information will be identified over the coming months.”
