    "2005 was another record year, growing by 4.25% with 32913 additional passengers handled. It is also the first time that the Airport has seen over 800,000 passengers in a year.

    Total aircraft movements grew by 2% to 45020, or an aircraft every 8 minutes. Within this total there were 31142 scheduled aircraft movements which was an all time record, equivalent to one every 11 minutes.

    During 2005, there were eleven scheduled airlines that served the Island, and 18 destinations were flown at one time or another. New destinations included Edinburgh, Galway, Paris and Southampton, although the latter three ceased before the year end.

    New airlines that commenced services were VLM Airlines (to London City and Brussels), and AlphaOne Airlines (to Edinburgh)."
