All Island Careers Convention 2006 6 January 2006

The Department of Education is hosting it's second All Island Careers Convention next month - on Thursday 9th February at the Villa Marina.

As last year this Careers Convention will be open to pupils from all the Department's secondary schools, the IOM College and also to members of the public, including parents wishing to attend after school with their children. The Department has already made arrangements for Year 11 pupils to visit the event during their normal school day, but it is hoped that other pupils (and parents) will also make the most of this opportunity after normal school hours.

The responses received from both the exhibitors and visitors last year were very encouraging and again, there will be over 50 exhibitors supporting the Department for this year's event. The exhibition will be open from 9.30 am until 7 pm and will be fully manned all day with experts in a variety of fields to answer questions and offer advice and information. Because this is a full day event it will allow the exhibitors to concentrate their resources towards it and so, potentially, offer much more to all visitors.

The exhibitors taking part will cover a very varied range of opportunities such as accountancy, the construction industry, travel and health services plus many more. Programme guides with a full list of exhibitors, including floor plans, will be available for everyone on their arrival.

If you require any further information regarding the Careers Convention they should contact Julian Potts, Careers Service Manager for the Department of Education on 685128.
