NSC scores Top Marks in independent quaility assessment 10 April 2006

NSC receiving QUEST Quality AwardThe Isle of Man National Sports Centre has been awarded the prestigious QUEST quality award.

QUEST is a national quality award scheme developed by industry experts to help leisure centres improve their services and facilities by benchmarking against others across the British Isles.

The NSC was inspected by an independent QUEST quality assessor from the UK in January 2006. The assessment took place over a two day period which involved the review of several key operational issues. Four of the key areas assessed included facilities operation, customer relations, staffing and service development.

Approximately 600 leisure facilities throughout the British Isles participate in the QUEST quality scheme and the NSC is now positioned second highest with a score of 82%. The highest scoring facility is currently the Guildford Spectrum leisure facility, based in the South of England. In addition to the on site two day assessment the NSC also had an independent mystery visitor assess the facility.

Tourism and Leisure Minister Hon David Cretney MHK said:

‘This superb achievement is a credit to all the NSC staff and I would like to put on record my thanks for their commitment and hard work over the years.’

The NSC is committed to continuous improvement through serving the local community. The ethos behind Manx sport and recreation is to encourage sport participation from its early foundation stage through to sporting excellence. The centre is now registered again within the QUEST quality scheme in the category of ‘Highly recommended.’
