Dolphin Trophy Swimming Galas 2006 1 June 2006

The annual Dolphin Trophy Swimming Galas for the Island Primary Schools took place on Wednesday 24th May at the National Sports Centre.

A total of 30 primary Schools took part in the events held over the course of the day, which involved over 360 pupils from years 5 and 6. In the morning in the small school category there were 8 schools competing.Ballaugh Team 06

The results were:
  • 1st. Ballaugh
  • 2nd. Dhoon
  • 3rd. Foxdale

Swimming for Ballaugh were:

Callum Leaton, Rebecca Cowin, Chris Owen, Sophie Leaton, Ellen Cleator, Blair Hendrickson and Lauren Whitfield.

Also during the morning the medium schools gala took place and results for this were:

Ballasalla Swimming Team 06

In the afternoon the larger schools were divided into two categories.

  • In category 1 there were 7 schools and the winners were:
  • 1st. Buchan
  • 2nd. Ballacottier
  • 3rd. Andreas

Swimming for the Buchan were: Freddie Hall, Sarah Butler, Dan Simpson, Francesca Hedley, Sam Kebbell, Ashley Bird, Murray Acheson, Grace Harrison, Nicholas White, Rebecca Hempsall, Jonathan Chan and Hannah Howitt. Buchan Team 06

In category 2 for the large schools there were also 7 schools competing and the winners were:
  • 1st. Albert Road
  • 2nd. Rushen
  • 3rd. Scooil Valljeelt

Albert Road's team consisted of: Hayden Armour, Katie Callow, Illiam Quane, Katie Blaker, Ben Ashworth, Megan Webb, Ruairi Poole, Mary Kennish, ~George Walmsley, Stephanie Brew, Shaun Kermeen, Lyndsey Beynon Albert Road Team 06
