Isle of Man General Index of Retail Prices 17th May 2006 6 June 2006

The annual rate of inflation increased for the first time since October 2005 and now stands at 3.3%, being 0.4% up on the April figure.

The annual rate of inflation for All Items Excluding Housing now stands at 3.7%.

Over the month to mid-May the category to have recorded the largest movement was the Tobacco index with an increase of 2.2%. Both the Catering and the Motoring expenditure indices rose by 1.1%.

Over the year to mid-May the indices to record the largest increases were Fares and other travel costs (10.0%) and Fuel and light (8.3%). No category has fallen over the same period.

The General Index of Retail Prices for All Items now stands at 122.7 (January 2000 = 100.0).
