Island welcomes cruise ship Clipper Adventurer 12 September 2006

The MS Clipper Adventurer will visit the Island on Tuesday 19 September on a ‘Ryder Cup (Dublin City Hotel) and Celtic Links by Sea’ specialist golf cruise. She will arrive from Troon to berth in Douglas at 08:00. The ship, with nearly 200 passengers and crew, will be the sixth to visit in 2006. The majority of passengers will be enjoying a round of golf at Castletown Golf Links. Tours to Castletown and on the Snaefell Mountain Railway have been arranged for those passengers preferring to take in the sights.

The 4,300 ton Clipper Adventurer is a regular visitor to our shores. She was last here in June of this year and is scheduled to return in July 2007. She is an expeditionary cruise ship and will be spending our winter cruising Antarctica, The Falkland Islands, Cape Horn and Chile.

2007 looks like being a record breaking year with ten cruise ships already due to visit, bringing over 6200 visitors to the Island.

Clipper Adventurer is scheduled to depart for Liverpool at 21:00.
