Governor's Hill - Water and Gas Pipelines 14 September 2006

The Isle of Man Water Authority and Manx Gas are nearing completion of the installation of water and gas mains through the Governor’s Hill estate. The water mains, which have been installed to carry treated water from the new Douglas Water Treatment Works in Homefield Road through to the Cronk ny Mona service reservoir, form part of the Water Authority’s Crystal Project.

The remaining section of this work is due to commence on Monday 18 September and will involve excavating a 14 metre long section of the road immediately at the rear of number 28 The Laurels, Governor’s Hill. All residents in the vicinity have been informed.

Manx Gas will lay their new PE main and connect to the existing gas main, while the Water Authority will connect the new 355mm PE main to the 300mm ductile iron pumping main to Cronk ny Mona service reservoir, and a cross connection to the 8 inch Everite distribution main.

Both organisations wish to thank these residents and the residents of the Cronk y Berry and Governor’s Hill estates for their patience and co-operation during these essential works.

For queries in relation to this scheme concerned parties are asked to contact Mary Doyle, Customer Liaison Co-ordinator for the Isle of Man Water Authority’s Crystal Project on 682450 or Andy Bainton of Manx Gas on 644427.
