Public Warning Siren System Test 28 September 2006

There will be a test of the Public Warning Siren System on Saturday, 7th October 2006 at 11a.m.

The sirens at 30 of the 31 sites around the Island will sound a steady note for 15 seconds signifying all clear. The Mount Murray siren will not be tested on this occasion.

There is no need to take any action during this routine quarterly test of the siren system.

IMPORTANT: In an emergency the siren will sound a rising and falling note for three minutes. The purpose of the sirens is to notify the public of an emergency in which case you should –

GO IN, STAY IN and TUNE IN

By tuning into local radio stations (Manx Radio, Energy FM and 3FM) you will be notified of the nature of the emergency and be given specific advice on any actions you are required to take.

There is no need to take any action during the routine quarterly test of the siren system on Saturday 7th October 2006 at 11a.m.
