Department Of Transport announces essential road improvements on the A3 Douglas - Ramsey road 12 October 2006

On Monday 16th October, the Department of Transport will begin a new road improvement scheme on the A3 Douglas to Ramsey Road, more specifically at the 11th Milestone which is situated between Cronk y Voddy and Handley’s Corner.

The planned works will take approximately seven weeks to complete and include the installation of an additional surface water drainage system, laying new footway kerbing and re-surfacing the existing carriageway with an overlay.

Whilst these works are in progress all road users are advised that a 20mph speed restriction will be in operation. Drivers and operators of vehicles over 7.5 tonnes must also observe a weight restriction and use an alternative route for the duration of these works.

Temporary traffic lights will be used to control traffic flows through the affected area. The Department apologises in advance for any inconvenience these essential works may cause to road users and promises to complete the work as quickly as possible.
