Public invited to a FREE day of activities to celebrate the Ballaugh Curragh Ramsar Site 9 November 2006


10.30am – 4.00pm: All-day displays at Ballaugh Church Hall Come and learn more about the Curragh and the Ramsar designation; explore 10,000 years of Manx history as revealed within the peat and find out what is being done for wetland wildlife on the Island.

11.00am The Secret Curragh – a guided walk with John ‘Dog’ Callister This is a rare chance to explore off the beaten track. Meet at the Wildlife Park main gate. Bring wellies and mud-proof clothes. The walk will finish back at the Wildlife Park at around 1.00pm. Booking is strongly advised as places are limited.

2.00pm – 3.30pm: Afternoon talks at Ballaugh Church Hall

2.00pm DAFF talk: Ramsar Sites

3.00pm DAFF talk: Corncrakes

4.00pm: Manx Wildlife Trust Hen Harrier Watch Meet at Close Sartfield Nature Reserve car park (Grid Reference SC 358 956).
