St John's School Remembrance Service 9 November 2006 CHILDREN from St Johns School are staging their own Remembrance service. It takes place at St Johns Church tomorrow (Friday) at 10.40am. A dozen year six pupils will read poems and prayers they have written themselves or will read from the churchs Book of Remembrance. Then all the pupils will walk to the war memorial, observe two minutes silence and the eldest and youngest pupils will lay a wreath. The honour this year falls to Lauren Blayney, 11, and Ethan Galbraith, four. The rest of the 161 pupils will then place their own poppies at the memorial. The service will be led by the Vicar of St Johns the Reverend Geoffrey Breffitt. Parents and grandparents are invited. More stories >>>
